The biggest daily crypto newsletter.

Core Idea: Let’s copy/paste The Hustle’s blueprint but in the crypto space.

Creating a daily newsletter summarizing everything in the crypto world on a daily basis.

The Blueprint

Simple is beautiful, but in this case ugly.

The Milk Road started as a Google Doc, that looked like a 3rd graders scribble drawing…

Being sent through email to friends for initial feedback.

(Lesson: Your first born will by ugly. Trust me, I’m the first born)

The kid finally hit puberty

Eventually, switching to Beehiiv.

A newsletter platform, giving them access to:

  • A simple website

  • No-code editor

  • Referral program

  • Audience polls and much more

Here’s how they grew it:

Growth Hacks 101

Don’t be average.

With multiple other crypto newsletter in the game. How do you set yourself apart?

By having some big cajones (balls).

They started trading $1,000,000 publicly as a stunt to grow their subs.

It worked, but…

At the cost of them losing over 70% of the wallet value.

While also gaining them their first 100,000 subs. (Lesson: Take it like a man)

Fueling the Fire

In came the Facebook and TikTok ads.

Helping drive over 150k subs to the newsletter at the cost of $1 to $1.30 per sub.

Steepening the growth curve even further.

Find your tone:

The Milk Road embraced a casual and funny tone to make complex topics accessible and engaging for their audience.

Be different:

By using creative marketing methods:

  • Trade $1 million in public

  • Launch an NFT collection

They were able to generate more buzz around their newsletter. Setting them apart from the rest.

Timing:

The Milk Road saw the opportunity in the crypto space for a non-technical, simple and relatable newsletter. Letting them accelerate their growth.
